The angels in scripture having normal stature isn't because they were the same size as humans, but because they were able to make themselves appear human when they wanted to.

The Bible gives descriptions of the different types of angels, and NONE of them look human in their natural form. You're thinking about the artistic depictions of angels of being beautiful men or chubby babies with a set of wings. That is NOT the Bible's description of angels.

The "giants" in Canaan were not the first generation of Nephilim. Let's just suppose that the second generation of Nephilim were as large, or nearly as large, as the first generation. I disagree that the description of the size of these giants was wholly figurative language, because of the words 'nephilim,' and 'giants. If the writers were talking about a large person, why wouldnt they just say a very large person? Instead they deliberately say 'giants' 'nephilim' and 'decendandts of anak' or 'descendants of nephilim' the writers are trying to make the distinction that these are a separate race and abnormal beings.

I think most recently Dr. Heiser has argued strongly for this position. That could very well be the case as well. I did not take a position on that either way. In either case, it is clear that these giants are not 40 feet tall, much less feet tall. Whatever their anthropology, the biblical evidence leads us to the conclusion that they were somewhere in the neighborhood of feet at the most. That being said, the Anon person is correct that there are two completely distinctive words used for the giant that is Goliath and then the Nephilim. I am 6' 0" and even if I saw a person 12' tall I would not think myself a "grasshopper" to him.

The is built on an assumption of textual corruption. Perhaps more copies have been recently found but no version I know of actually says they were hundreds of feet Second, and more importantly every reference in the Bible to actual sizes is 14 feet or less.

We can discuss the relative size of grasshoppers as an argument but in every case where an actual size is given it is nowhere near hundreds of feet.

Finally, it is not true that Enoch was ever undisputed homologoumena. It was never part of the Jewish canon and although some early Christians accepted it, others did not. In the end, it failed to meet the criteria of acceptance to be recognized as canonical. I think it in the book of enoch it says that the sons of angels are 30 cubits which is around 45 feet.
